Franklin County Archives
Franklin County, with financial assistance from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, has established an archival and records management program designed to ensure the proper storage, management and disposal of all official County records in addition to assisting the public in a number of ways relative to genealogical and scholarly research. Franklin County is committed to safeguarding and preserving its history and heritage as well as providing the public with access to the documents and records pertaining to the history, administration and operation of the County.
The County is in the process of organizing and relocating some of its oldest and most historically valuable records. Additionally, the County will begin a comprehensive document scanning and microfilming project beginning in January 2006 to ensure the preservation of these important records as well as increase the accessibility and availability of these records for research purposes.
Should anybody have any questions regarding the County’s archival and records management program, please contact the County’s Project Archivist, Stu Veinotte, at 717.709.7218 or via e-mail at swveinot@co.franklin.pa.us.
